Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about how Eidon Capital Readiness works, what I do (and don't do), timelines, pricing, and what to expect before you book.
Eidon is a Capital Readiness firm. I build the financial architecture and data-driven narratives required to secure commercial capital. I do not do your daily bookkeeping or tax filings. I am the bridge between your operational reality and the bank's rigid risk requirements.
I am not your CPA or bookkeeper. I don't handle tax compliance, daily ledger entries, or regulatory legal filings. My focus is strictly on capital readiness and financial architecture. If you need a CPA, I can point you toward resources, but my role is to ensure your numbers are bank-ready, not just compliant.
No. Bank outcomes are determined exclusively by the lender's risk appetite, underwriting criteria, and internal policies. Eidon provides the strategy, architecture, and readiness systems that position you to meet those criteria — but final decisions remain with the lender.
Getting your finances in order can be part of the process. While it's not a hard rule you need to have three years of financials from an accountant, you do need to have some sort of system to track your internal profit loss and balance sheet. Think QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks, Wave, Zoho, etc. These need to be submitted 48 hours before our Tier 1 session.
No, if you haven't been in business that long, obviously you won't have this. Even if you have been in business that long, if you only have a year or two that's okay too — we'll work with this. Internally, you need to have some system to track the financial health of your business. You do need something that can produce relatively accurate reports.
You can have a full Compilation Engagement statement, or even a Review or Audit Engagement, but you don't need to. The minimum I require are a Profit/Loss Sheet and a Balance Sheet for requested time periods. If you have filed your business taxes I will also accept tax filings as financials.
For past full years of Financials, the data should be documented in your internal bookkeeping software. For interim/current fiscal year financial information, please have them up to date within the last 3 to 6 months work. This can be reviewed in more detail during a free Readiness Check.
Tier 1 is a prerequisite for Tier 2 and Tier 3. The assessment establishes your baseline and identifies the specific gaps that Tier 2 addresses. Skipping it would be like building a house without a foundation inspection.
The complimentary Readiness Check is a 30-minute conversation to see if you have the core pieces in place and whether a full Tier 1 Assessment makes sense for you. Tier 1 is the deep dive — a 90-minute diagnostic session with a formal written assessment delivered within 48 hours.
Yes. While Eidon is based in Edmonton, Alberta, capital readiness strategy can be delivered remotely. Sessions are conducted via video conference, and all document sharing happens through secure Google Drive folders.
I like to say that AI is a really smart person that jumps to conclusions. Without rigorous oversight, it builds financial narratives that fall apart under an underwriter's microscope. Users need to understand the content and how to know when the answers are right for your own business. Lenders also need to know that you understand and fully represent your business. Getting asked a question about an AI response and not having an answer can cost you in the deal. You can spend months trying to master financial modeling and prompt engineering yourself, or you can partner with me — saving time and money while building a bulletproof strategy together as we go.
Yes, AI is used in the background to support and speed up operations. The graphics, for example, are AI generated — however, the content in the graphics is 100% Heidi. All content and information is verified and confirmed by Heidi before it goes to clients. Information is protected and not shared back into any open AI. Everything you send Eidon remains confidential.
Ultimately the core elements a bank looks for are the same as anyone willing to lend money. Starting out from the very beginning knowing these strategies and setting yourself up for success will make every step of the journey easier. And if you're a start up with capital and don't want to borrow any money, let's chat in a Readiness Check — because if things don't go according to plan and you approach a lender when you're weak, it's not likely going to go well. Banks like businesses that plan ahead and have a backup plan.
The short answer in terms of financing is: it depends, but reach out and I will share my Eidon Strategy booklet on how to improve your credit and why lenders are about business and personal credit.
If you have a banker that does this already, never let them go — they are gold! However, do not forget they work for the bank, not you, and there will always be things a banker will not be able to tell you or that you shouldn't tell your banker. I am solely on the side of the business owner. I have no other objective except to help your business be more bank ready.
